A few months ago, Kim and I went down to Gino's Pizza and Prosecco Bar to attend an event hosted by Gino D'Acampo and got the opportunity to meet him afterwards and have a chat with him. I've always enjoyed watching Gino's shows because I love Italian food and culture... and obviously he's absolutely hilarious. So it was great to watch him live and see that when we met him his energy was exactly the same as it is on TV, we had a great laugh!
So, after mine and Kim's two week road trip to Italy this September, I felt really inspired to create some Italian inspired combinations. Once I had a range of interesting flavours that worked well, I spoke to mine and Gino's mutual friend, Jemma, about what I'd been working on and she passed it on to Gino. Low and behold, Gino was interested and we decided to put our heads together to create an unique tasting experience!
6 weeks later, I went down to Gino's Pizza and Prosecco Bar in Manchester and had one of the best nights of my career so far, speaking alongside Gino D'Acampo, to a really enthusiastic crowd, all about how I became a chocolatier and all about chocolate!
As well as chatting about my history with chocolate, I provided all 130 guests with a tasting board of my Italian inspired combinations for the guests to taste. All subjective, a tasting experience, it provided some great conversation between me, Gino and guests in the restaurant. I also got to speak about my upcoming kids and adult events in Gino’s restaurant in Manchester, I'm really excited to do it all again and hopefully I'll see some familiar faces!

I've got a video on my IGTV which is great to have to look back on. I remember how nervous I was when I first started doing this and it reminds me how far I've come, and how important it is to dream big and not to ever worry about aiming too high, just do it!
